We’ve always felt there are many similarities between being a chef and DJing events and Ed McFarland proves our point. Besides the logistical commonalities in both professions (working late nights and on your feet alot) chefs have to mix all the right ingredients to make a delicious meal, while DJing requires mixing all the right songs to create an unforgettable party.
Ed excels at both. With his degree from the French Culinary Institute and his years of experience in catering, he can cook up a storm! And with his DJing and music producing skills, he can heat up any dance floor!
Ed says he loves DJing because he’s always been driven to entertain people and make them smile. Plus, similar to a busy restaurant kitchen, he loves the manic energy that comes with DJing. He tells us the best moment for him is: “When I have everyone up on the dance floor vibing to my mix and the energy that creates.” And while he loves all types of events, weddings are his favorite because, being married himself, he knows how memorable the day will be in the lives of his couples.
When Ed isn’t DJing or catering, he’s busy with his family. Whether he’s bringing his daugher to cheerleader competitions or his son to hockey games, he’s always on the run.
